Molds consist of microscopic organisms found both indoors and out. Their purpose is to aid in decomposition and help break down organic materials.
For molds to grow, they need a food source, which may be the walls or floors of your home if they contain moisture. Without mositure, molds cannot survive.
In that molds aid in decomposition, they gradually break down the walls or wood flooring. Growing on surfaces, they can appear brown, black, green, grey, or sometimes white. They commonly produce a moldy/musty or ammonia-like smell.
As molds grow, they release thousands of tiny spores that travel on air currents.
Mold can begin to grow within just a day or two after a water pipe breaks or a roof leak allows the entry of water.
We dry carpets, floors, ceilings and walls to prevent additional damage from occurring due to mold.
